Description

Hi Guys, Haven't posted for a while. Been off playing on the 3D World Mag Site. Entered the September Creative Chalenge. And WON!! Good bunch of Guys there. I've posted some nice WIP renders on the Sept CC thread. Lots of wires and exploded views of the 1976 Dinky Toys Enterprise. Modelled in Amapi D7 and Carrara 7P. Oh Yeah. I forgot. I did a 16 second animation for a bit of fun too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeNJdLxLUd0 Thanks for looking and Good luck with your latest projects. Z

This is amazing. Not only that the quality is perfect, also the whole concept of this is just great! Good I have two kids so I am still allowed to be a child with them every now and then. ;-)

Excellent! A crisp, clean and very well rendered piece of art. The lighting is superb, it give an excellent mood to the image. Well worth the title you have given it.

That is superb, I remember those, I had one - the enterprise that fires plastic discs. Very impressive as always. I love the shaders on the photon disc, the enterprise body and the weathered orange - anything goos? So what was the competition?

Thanks Guys Tom - Lots of goos. And the competition was 'Model Something From Your Childhood' I've always wanted to do the Original Enterprise, but thought. "why bother. It's been done before" But I'm guessing the 1976 Dinky Toy Version hasn't. A great opportunity to model something from when I was 9 years old that could still stand up today. Z

Excellent modelling as always. Excellent animation as well. And if you have a real Dinky Enterprise in good nick, it'll be worth a few pennies. I sold a Dinky Space: 1999 Eagle for over £100 last year! I was chuffed.

I think the only time I ever PLEADED with my parents was for the Dinky Enterprise. I lost the shuttle before Christmas was over and most of the disks within the year and then decided to see how it worked. it was never the same after that. Nice memories, fantastic model and render. Thanks.
