The depth of field is accentuated by the sunlight so in this case it is motivated. Otherwise I have found that blur annoys people -even if it mimics reality..Miska7 is one of those few who who know how to use both landscape and people (and animals). She blends in very nicely. I don't know about the plastic look of the dress though, wouldn't it be better with real cloth texture?
