Description

“Remember Jana, they’re people, they’re just big, that’s all..” thought Jana to herself. “Great Targoff, King of the Black Horde. We Elfin folk wish to join with you in peace between our peoples. We have a common enemy in the Droga, foul beasts that they are, we should be united against this evil.” she said to the huge man on the throne of the Horde King. “He’s just big” she reassured herself once again. “Common enemy we have, yes, but what need have we of such a tiny ally such as the Elfin.” asked Targoff. “Great Targoff she calls me. She knows of my past with her people. A Past that has not always been a peaceful one.” Targoff thought silently. He also knew that it was not the Horde that always prevailed against these little folk. There were times when they had given him such defeats that he had come home limping and his vast armies in shambles. These were not a weak people regardless of their small stature. He asked this question only so he could keep a semblance of being the more powerful. He wondered if she saw him as such or if her strong gaze saw his discomfort in her presence here, in his very throneroom. “The Droga are vast, Great One, they are growing even now into an enemy that we, individually, would be hard pressed to bring to terms.” replied Jana. “What an arrogant man. His ego as large as his huge carcass. Even now he makes pretense when capitulation would be more sensible” she muttered beneath her breath, assured that he could not hear such a quiet tone such as hers. Surely he saw the truth in her words. “We must strike before they are too large a threat for even our combined might. They breed like the rats that they resemble, with their pointy and ugly faces, devoid of chins on their beastly countenance’ continued Jana. “We have little time so what say you, Mighty One?” “ I like this little person”, thought Targoff . “She could have came, erogant, bragging of HER might, asking what WE could offer in this common front. Instead she humbles herself, allowing me the superior position when she need not.” “Well spoken, and most gracious that you think of the Horde as ally considering our common past, let alone our common enemy. Yes, then ‘little terror of the mist’ ” he replied, using the name of honor that his ancestors had given this small people. A name that had once brought fear to any who bore the mark of the Horde. He saw the quick grin that came to Jana’s face and as rapidly was hidden again. She recognized he had just passed the higher position to her and had been a compliment from one who very seldom had to give one. “Then it is done. I will take my leave your Lordship, I must ready my people and then return that we might make our plans of attack” she said. He smiled and gave a nod and away she went. “Yes, I do indeed like this little one.”

Beautiful work Gene, Love the story with this one its great and the image is superb. Love the fact that both Targoff and Jana both have red hair must be where their feisty spirit comes from.. Love the soldiers armour colours too, well done...
