Description

She listened to him speak patiently enough, but there was a disconcerting look in her eyes. He didn't quite know what to make of it. It was as though she was actually paying attention. He wasn't used to that. What if she failed to be taken in by his carefully rehearsed speech? What if... (he gulped) she actually had questions for him afterward? He started to sweat.
