Description

This is as good as I can do at the moment. The stitches have only been taken out a little while ago and my hand packed it in with the painting. I modelled a guitar strap - but it just looked silly so I got rid of it. TO answer questions from the previous image: I had 5 lights. 1 VraySun, and 4 small spherical lights placed in different positions to catch highlights etc. In my photography hobby thingy - I have learned how studio light is used to produce "natural" lighting effects. So the glamour images we are used to and use for reference have so much artificial light to them, that we wonder why our snaps looks so flat and dull. Skill is one thing, a dirty great softbox just out of view is another. Ok self criticism: pose is not good, the framing could have been better and I don't like the soft focus effect normally - but it seemed to fit. Lemmie know what you think. Raj

I think the model is beautiful, love the eyes. It is a cute piece, lil angel rocker chic. On a technical note the pose is off a bit, I play guitar so I can notice that right off. And yes, a guitar strap is a must when standing up ;) There is a little poke through with the dress in regards to her right arm and the guitar, minor stuff but noticeable. But all in all a fun piece.

I like the render, Raj! 'alltheoriginalnames' is right on the money with his comments, but for someone nursing an injured mouse hand, I think we can let those go. And thanks for your light explanation. I thought you were rendering in Poser, and thought I had a ghost of a chance of getting my lights some where close to yours, but I guess Vray is just a much better product for lighting. Very cool looking picture!

I'm so happy you read my comments - lol.... I'm thrilled you stuck a guitar in her hands... People that play guitars may tell you the pose is off, but I watch a lot of guitar playing, and to me, the pose is RIGHT ON! I'm seeing this as her standing backstage, talking to the producers and holding the guitar, not necessarily playing it... so to me, the pose couldn't be better - and that would be a good reason not to have the strap... and to tell you the truth, most of the guitar heros I see don't use straps as often as people think. I like what you did here, it's excellent... If this was my work, I'd have to remove the crown, it's not giving off shadows and it looks like it stands out too much... the left elpow area, I'd do so postwork, but other than that, I'm thrilled over it... I like how you taylor on the neck... Art Thou? is a great title and I'd pull it for another image to use in the future... I'd name this one: "Taylor made" ...I do wonder if I hadn't said anything if you would of created this image.... It's a great piece to have in your gallery, I'm happy I may have helped your inspiration - GREAT JOB!
