Description

Waken by the gentle tapping on the tin tap, tap tap, tap it was my long lost friend The rain asking me to come out and play where have you been Mr. Vaggabondd I haven't seen you since you were a kid I closed my eyes tried to go back to sleep and just ignore my old friend but he was very persistent tap, tap tap, tap with every tap I could hear him say Mr. Vaggabondd get up it's time to play as I kept tossing and turning I finally realizing I could not win so I bought in I grabbed my shorts and shoes with child like glee I jumped in my car and drove to the park I quickly threw off my shoes and my shirt Stretched my arms out Tilted my head to the sky And let the rain Take away all the dry Every drop was like liquid ice Sending a cold chill down my spine Clear down to my toes Purging my burdens Cleansing my soul Thank you Mr. Rain For being such a good friend I hope I don't wait another 30 years To see you again Today I was laying in my rv thinking I need to get up and take a shower and the whole time the rain kept pouring down. For some crazy reason it hit me, get up go to the park and stand out there and take a rain shower so I finally did. I loved it. That cold rain on this chubby little body sparked life into me. It was a awesome feeling. Now I would love to say that I was standing out there naked doing this rain dance but the truth is I didn't want to go to jail. Haha. You have all seen me naked I am too cute for prison lol. So I just stripped down to my shorts and had a wonderful ice cold shower. So as always my friends if you ever wanted to stand in the pouring rain and let the ice cold water purge your soul then this poem is for you.

Lovely poem Randy! Wonderful expression of the joy of life and the need to take time to experience it. Beautiful descriptions, that had me right there with you. (And since it was vicariously, my state of dress was quite unimportant) We have a chance of rain on Monday and then next Friday. If either materialize, I'll do a little dance in it in your honor.

This one made my eyes well up and then I laughed. When I was six years old I remember walking to school when it started to rain. I played in the rain and missed school. I was punished for that. Now I am retired and it's time to go play in the rain again. The next dance is in your honor.

I've taken a pragmatic attitude towards the rain. If I get wet, I get wet if not, oh well! I remember being the the Philippines and getting caught in the rain showers there - the nice thing about those, the rain was a bit warmer than in the PNW. I'ev done some rain dances in my live thanks for reminding me

Excellent poem Randy...of course...I love the rain and this sound awesome anyways! I love walking, running and of course dancing in the rain...it has been my sanctuary many a times...when it rains, nobody can tell if you have tears of joy or tears of sorrow.
