Description
Manuel Moreno Maya, known as "El Pele'", is a singer, born in Cordoba in the year 1954, in the district of San Pedro.
Family very humble, toured the streets of Córdoba singing in streets, tablaos and fairs. Manuel Benitez "The Cordovès" to know Him, was that gave him his nickname. With 15 years wins first prize Cayetano Muriel (1969) and, after some others, he won in 1983 first two awards of National contest of Flamenco Art: "The Serneta" by soleá and of "Pastora Pavón" by bulerías.
During the 1980S, "El Pele" was artistic partner of Vicente Amigo, arriving to share a stage with Shrimp on the island. Highlights in the songs by soleá, Seguiriyas, bulerías, fandangos and tonás. Has succeeded in creating new ways expressive alegrías, tangos and bulerías to which prints a stamp modern and staff.
