Thanx for the comment. The title comes form a philosophical and biologocal theory that Ants are far to small to recognise the existance of Elephants - they're practicaly the size of a moon to an ant! Therefore Ants probably recognise Nelly as a large geological structure. In the case of the image the humans busy in building their plant havent noticed the ancient alien structure in the distace

The WIPs were great, but this is excellent. It's interesting to soo the image "grow" and now look at the end result. Very good lattices/ terrains and good modelling!

I like the hole & the steam effects. The transporter / train-type thing is well modelled also, but I hate to think what's going to happen when it reaches the other side of the bridge...

Fantastic! Such an eye for details in your models. LOTS of patience required there. I hve been following this piece since you posted the first WIP, and must say I'm impressed. Such a great use of colour, lighting, texturing. It all comes together to create a great piece of work.

great work on modelling, but maybe now the image is too full, and the contrast between the"elephant" and the little men is lost in the wonderfull particulars of the image. BRW great image, and great philosophy.

Swidhelm Chuckles Love the title. I makes it seem like they would be saying something along the lines of "Oh man, the commander is gonna have our hides." N/A derjimi Great detail. The textures give a good "used and muddy look". N/A Chere Both of the detailed Images look great but I think I like this one the best !

N/A fozzibear Hey steve, those little extra bits of detail are spot on, just adds to the shear scope of the image N/A Calseeor This is really looking good. I still can't get over how you captured a true sci-fi world here. The other version was well done, but this is looking better, even. Great textures on those pipes. Nice work! N/A Little Red The dust/haze at the base of the structure is a good idea, and the texture on the ground is perfect! Gonna put in some airships?? 10 Chere It dose look even better! The only thing I can think of that I don't see is small pieces of scrap material laying here and there. While I was on the job site at Yellow Creek Nuclear Plant We had areas that we kept odd pieces a material that we might use later in the construction of the plant. They were in small neatly stacked piles out of the way of walking. The areas were always keep fairly clean. This image reminds me of Yellow Creek so much I guess because it's so massive looking! The pipes do look great.!! I still like the colors ,glad you keep them. REALLY NICE WORK ! 10 Freeze Wowww, this looks giant! - Really great work, we like the composition in all fine details... excellent done ! ! ! N/A tuttle Good work. At 3Kx4K, this would make an excellent poster. As for suggestions - here's what I would do to finish it off - although you might decide I'm talking crap! ;]. IMHO, the terrains need more detail. The structure has stepping on the right-hand wall and the foreground needs to have less bump and more frequency (it would be hard to walk on that at the moment!) More pipework and more junk lying around would be good (I worked at a nuclear plant for 13 years, and believe me, they like their pipework and junk!!!) Lastly, have more figures and have them doing something - having a conversation, riding on a vehicle, laying pipework, discussing some item of machinery. They look a bit lost at the moment. Again, though, nice job; I can't wait to see the finished render. N/A swift_wraith love the pov. 10 MakinMagic Looks great. I'm not qualified to give suggestions as I don't use Bryce, but maybe a little dust/haze here and there over the foreground would be nice. 10 nu-be I see 3 astronauts...what do I win? ;) Looks even better..now for some Mars Buggies, and a radar or 2..keep 'em coming... N/A steve allen there are satelite dishes in the mid ground...and I'm just working on a buggy!! You must be Psychic...or psychiatric. [Delete] 9 vasquez looks good! the texturing is fantastic. keep on! N/A Django Looks great, woderfull depth feeling N/A vasquez fantastic title! The image is superb, keep on!! N/A Synapse A great realisation of a great subject N/A steve allen thanx! [Delete] 9 nu-be I like it.. N/A ocddoug the scale is great, very nice! N/A steve allen I've always admired the sense of scale in others' work and haven't always been succesful in achieveing a similar effect so I went of and studied traditional artists. My next few images will be based around scale. I hope I'm getting there..... [Delete] N/A MakinMagic Nice work, the effect is impressive. N/A pixeltek Yes, that always impressed me as well: Massive things rising out of the haze, giving a great sense of scale. Is the background image done in Bryce too? N/A schlafhasi it's a great idea and a very good realisation :) keep on the good work!. the terrain-texture is nice N/A humorix The background really looks imposing! Great composition. What if you placed the figures right in the foreground, say the lower right corner, necks craning to take in the imposing height of the building? Love the fissure which you have created. Great job! N/A Calseeor fantastic. The scale on this is awesome..and even creepy. The title says it all. Your terrain looks good too..even with the textures you have on it now. Nice work. 10 Chere It looks really massive to us !We like the terrain texture. The massive look is really a nice look.Hope to see more like this !!! N/A fozzibear Hey steve, the scale aint huge, its AWESOME!!!!! Looking forward to seeing the finished pic. N/A kromekat An image after my own heart! - That vastness in scale has always inspired me too! - this looks great!! - I love the ship docking into the structure! N/A pmoores Love the perspective you used. Like they all say, its huge. Your inspiring me for my image after next. N/A steve allen pixeltek - yes the background building is made of about 5 up-turned terrains, designed in Photoshop and then scaled up in bryce....they're VERY big and VERY far away in the scene - so as to put them behind the haze.

Thanks for the insight. As far as I am concerned, more artists should disclose their tekniques. We are here to learn, admire, and share. The terrrain shaping via PS is something I still have to attempt sometime. A good tutorial should be somewhere on the web. It looks like you've got a handle on it. Excellent "ant perspective".
