Description
Another older photograph. I'm almost 100% certain this is a Plexippus petersi - One of the many tiny jumping spiders we see around here. This guy was on the kitchen wall, and was a pain to capture. They're small (around the 5mm point for those who havn't seen one), the lighting sucked for something so tiny and they have a habit of springing onto the camera when you push the lens up in their face like that... a situation which of course renders it quite impossible to take their photo. :)
They are active hunters and their eyesight is absolutly unreal. They spring onto their prey from sometimes quite extreme distances given their size.
Fujifilm S9500 and a lot of Photoshop post to make up for the dull lighting situation.

I'm afraid their habit of jumping into the lens would probably make me the more interesting subject of a photograph! I'm glad you went after the shot, and he's pretty darn cute viewed from here....looks rather 'bookish'.

I have wasted more time and effort trying to capture a tiny jumping spider. You have done an excellent job of it here. I like the white surroundings. It really makes it "jump" out at you. :-)

Nice work, great colors, considering the low light. Very well done.
