Description

I went to Haiti a little while back and saw the sad reality of what they live in everyday. The worst part is there were mansions belonging to some extremely wealthy people sitting on top of hills looking down over this and they don't do anything to help because those mansions are only their vacation homes, so why should they care?

21th century and still so much misery all around the world...Reality isn't always beautiful

How sad, I think even sadder for those that sit above this and can just look down and not do anything to help.

I have heard many stories from visitors to Haiti that there are two classes...the very rich and the very poor. It is no wonder the poor hate as they do and there is so much unrest here over the class system. If I lived like this and saw where the people on the hill came from to summer over, I would be angry too. Bad enough they had beautiful houses to come to in my own backyard when I had to step over garbage and sewage just to get to the market. But that is how it is. Someone has to have the most and someone has to have the least...life is not fair. This is a fantastic shot that brings a view of what most people will not see when they visit.

Actually, even though they are forced to live that way, the people I met in Haiti were the happiest I have ever seen. It's very refreshing, and many people could take a lesson from them. They were very inspiring to me. :-)
