Hmm, yes, removal of that gland is paramount! I would be weary of their teeth though... Cheers, Clive

Skunks have some of the thickest and softest fur - very lush and desireable. And skunks are very sweet once they are are de-scented and neutered. We had a baby here for awhile that had been abandoned but rather than keep it as a pet and have it surgically de-scented, we opted to release it in the wild as soon as it was weaned. I used to sell skunks - up to 10 each winter - as a wildlife artist. One of my favorite small (city) mammals. Beautiful expression in this one's face.

What a beautiful face he has, and how wonderful to be able to appreciate one as a pet. I hadn't realised that they could be descented. hugs Jane xx

Interesting pet! Similar in temperament to a domestic cat when cared for properly- although I read their diet is a bit more challenging. Nice capture and certainly full of the cute-factor! ;)
Richardphotos
beautiful animal and shot. I have heard of people having them as pets but never seen one in a home.mostly as road kill
eekdog
great shot! hope that op worked.

How sweet a creature, wonderful capture. Here it is illegal to descent and keep as pets so you'd not find a vet willing to do that. Although years ago it was possible. They claim spread of rabies is the reason, but I'd think they could vacinate like they do cats or dogs, then again, what do I know....
blinkings
I have always wondered what they actually smell like. Is it as bad as they make out in all the cartoons!!!!!
