Description

maybe one of our aviary experts can identify this bird. it was flying below Hoover dam when Jocko500 and myself were walking across.the focus is not what I would like. I was using auto focus and it was picking up on the background instead I went to bed at 8:30 last night, then got up and went home at 11:00.no I am joking. I was really tired for some reason.installing my programs wore me out I suppose. M4 and V4 would not install until after I installed Mil dragon. Mike(mapps) said because they are dragon hunters!! thanks for having a look and of course any comments are welcomed

The wingspan is awesome, must have been an honour to have it soaring above, for you to take these great shots. Anything technical is over my head!!!!!!!!!

Great looking captures of this soaring bird. Sometimes cat naps are the way to go to rejuvenate when you are loading a computer.

It is certainly an osprey. Very nicely captured, I might add. You will almost always find them in close proximity to water, as they are a type of fishing eagle.

Yup. They are all right. It is considered to be from the "hawk" family I believe. Very beautiful birds!

Congratulations on being artist of the month in Photo Forum for November 2009. Your photos tell exactly why you are chosen. This osprey is much lighter in color in this light than I am used to seeing. Around here, the wings have a blacker tone on top. Perhaps there is a western and eastern variation as seen in other birds of prey. They are definite fish eaters and quite adapt at the job. Nice surprise shots!

I would guess an Osprey too, it's way too big to be a Kestrel. Most excellent shots!!
