Description

As the title says, this is a Diskhound, from the very old and almost completely forgotten Crusher Joe animated series. Modeled in Rhino to scale from a plastic scale model. They're not actually this colour, but this is an old render and at the time I just liked the metallic look. I've tried to re-do the render since, but have never been satisfied. Maybe one day. Flamingo render. EDIT: I have to say, I think I agree with ramzaforcelaguna. Thank-you.

The metal gives it the look of a polished but unpainted figurine.

I have never seen one of these before, but it definitely looks great. Are you using a light dome to render?

Dan: Not exactly a "light dome" per se.. unless you consider 2 lights to be dome-like. Iv'e thus far never had to use any more than 3 lights in any of my models (except when i was REALLY new). The same as Injektor - that's only got 2 lights. I tried playing with light domes a long time ago and found them to be.. un-necessary? The extra sources only drove render times through the roof with no gain in quality... But then again I was probably doing it wrong, too. My typical setup for a long time has been two point lights in appropriate locations (with appropriate colours/brightness - one as the key, one for fill) and the source radius adjusted to be about the distance from the light to the centre of the scene.
