Description

Every Shuttle that has flown has done so from Launch Complex 39 which consists of Pad 39A and Pad 39B. Unfortunately cameras are not allowed close to the pad when the Shuttle is ready for launch. I don't know why since there have been hundreds of photos of Shuttles on the launch pad taken for publicity and for posters by NASA. It's no surprise I guess. The words government and logic have always had opposite meanings for me. So you get this rather fuzzy image of the Shuttle on Pad 39B and a much better picture of an empty Pad 39A. Cheer up, it gets better.

Empty or full, it is still impressive to view!

Is the one of the shuttle taken from a regular road? I would get such a thrill, seeing a shuttle as I drove along, even if it was not very close. These are very nice, can't wait to see what else is in store!

Ah ha! I thought I'd never seen such a shot! It reminds me of the movie "Contact" especially the shot on the left! Maybe Carl Sagan knew more than he let on..... :)I must agree this is an exciting series you have begun. Can't wait for more.
