Description

Via di Porta Angelica, Rome, 1.nov.09. This is the way from Metro station to St Peter's Basilica in Vatican. We can suppose people walking are mostly christian people...

Wonderful and all-too-true commentary. It's so easy to be invisible, especially when others don't wish to see you, so easy to depend on charity in a world where it's simply a pretty word with little substance. I won't go into what can be assumed of those who consistently ignore the troubles around them (all while causing quite a few of them!) but I will say that this is a stunning piece of photographic work. It's deeply felt and deeply moving. It's wonderful, but not in the happiest of ways. It's brave, and therin lies its beauty.

Oh wow...so sad. Funny, people always seem to feel they know whats best for them, but rarely can take five minuets out of their precious lives to see what someone else might need...and we wonder whats wrong with the world today...we made it how it is and nobody, or I should say not enough want to correct the problems to fix things like this. Amazing capture just the same. Makes you stop and think if anything.

Very powerful image on a terrible reality, which exists since centuries but is not better today than in the past. It's time to change the world seriously, which of course is not the desire of many people.

A shame is right! I had to keep staring at this to believe what I was seeing. It's a very sad and real photo journalistic portrayal of our world, I'm afraid.

A sad way of life for many who reach this place in their life for all sorts of reasons, there for the grace.........

Belle série sur la mendicité, la pauvreté et l'apparente indifférence des "nantis" (ce qu'on est quand on n'est pas mendiant ?) ! Joli rappel de ce que l'humanité est enracinée dans l'animalité, struggle for life, priorité à la survie égocentrée. Mais où sont les Saints ? Derrière l'appareil photo ?

And so it is, photography is some of the most powerful art ever created by humans, as it needs to be if one is to capture the most powerful images capable of humans. Execelent work!
