Born in Hilo, Hawaii and class of '66, I became very active in Barbells, Judo and love striking the heavy/speed bag. I've learned to Rollerblade and bike ride which is a very health sport. But time doesn't stop for anyone including for me. So my good friend Dave aka punaguy got me started in taking pictures. I'm having fun taking pictures especially hiking the mountains. I'm enjoying seeing the world thru your post on Renderosity. Mahalo and Aloha....Errol

Another stunning shot of the flow! That deep red is positively stunning, particularly against the black of the cooled lava. I have to really admire you for daring to get so close to such a stunning force of Nature to get these spectacular shots. The pure power of the volcano has always stunned me, and you've captured it fantastically. WONDERFUL shot!

I've seen this before, when we were there! I sat as close as I could and listened to the popping that lava makes when it cools...and the very light "ting...ting...ting" as the cooled bits of glass fell back. It is a wonderous sound, one that never leaves you. When I see a photo like this, the memories imediately come back. Lovely photo, and Aloha!
