UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

The airborne version of the Titanic! Real stellar use of the Flood filter, Bill! But I can't tell if those are clouds or smoke over the plane on the right of the image. I thought at first this was the actual shot of a jet aircraft that had hit the ocean.

Wow... that is an ever so dramatic and most beautiful effect Bill! Stunning composition; and a most unique and original POV and subject.... Sensational reflections and sky, and a most perfect contrast!

WOW! This is an arresting image, wonderfully realized. It has that sense of extreme Ninja-photographer realism that I really appreciate, even if it's just a flood filter. I love the details and how you managed to keep the realisim of the original photograph. (Filters can be overwhelming at times!) Superb work. It inspires me to try some stuff, even though I'm working without photoshop at the moment! Ugh...oh well...once things are straightened out, I'm getting the newest version of photoshop with all of the bells and whistles!

Wow, Bill! So this is the one you were telling me about! Awesome work - it really looks like you've drowned Col. Ritchie's poor Phantom! This is too cool! I'm glad she's still high and dry in Topeka!

I just came across this one from way back in 2009 and man is it good. Like Marilyn (beachzz) commented "you had be fooled for a sec". I hope all is well with you and Tara.

Hi Mark, Thanks for the comment. This was a fun photo to put together. If there really was a pilot in this he would have gotten very wet feet :-) Yes, Tara and I are doing great...we are in Central California in the Sacramento Valley today on our way home to WA. Are going to visit friends in Northern California for a few days and then poke along the Oregon coast. Should reach our home base in WA by about May 15th. How are you doing?
