Description

"The great tragedy of life is not that we perish, but that we cease to love." -Somerset Maugham
"Hold my heart! Let not the world tear you away." Across the dark centuries Your words echo around me Crashing my spirit against the Jagged shore of time. Sailing off on distant Ships of memory You are gone.
Last night I was working late into the morning hours on a current project. As I sometimes do I had Poser open and had been trying a few different things, mostly to study results and refine techniques. I will make a few adjustments then allow the render to cook in the background while I return to work. Nothing worth keeping a copy of came through .. which was alright as I was not really going after a particular idea. When I at last decided it was time for some sleep, I thought I'd try something a little innovative .. you know, one of those great sleep-deprived inspirations? I put together this un-repeatable lighting configuration and then, since I would be sleeping, cranked up the render settings in an untried combination. Then I stumbled into my final rounds before tumbling into bed. I did not give the render another thought as I slipped into dreams and so failed to be concerned at the faint glow gathering around my computer. Shortly after waking this morning I plunked my half-conscious self down in this deskchair. Still only half in this world I did not even remember that final render as I reached across the desk and turned the monitor on. Then . . . "Whoa! ... Who are You?" After some moments of silence a faintly familiar voice rose in my senses ... "Don't you remember me?" Slowly .. with deep emotions rising I did begin to remember . . .

And she's probably really annoyed that you left her sitting there all night. This could go several ways based on the fantastic lighting, sensuous or sinister or maybe both? Well done.

worlds can some times, almost of their own accord, spring forth from the depths of us; and the most amazing thing is we, from whom these realms spring, care about every character who lives within. great shadowplay/lighting!

The story of your late night sounds familiar. I've had a few like that myself. My theory, this week, about the occurrence of serendipitous stunners like your image here, is that it's a happy coincidence between texture size and render dimensions. If they're not the same, the tex's blow out, because the enlarge/reduce functions in Poser & DS are poor compared to those in PS. But then you probably worked that out ages ago and have a Management Strategy for it! Ho hum. Lighting worth a comment. Main light under the face but far enough forward to illuminate the eyes. But not the hair... something clever going on that I don't understand. A good one.
