What's New with The Art Of Carol Cavalaris
Galleries: I currently exhibit my work in several Colorado galleries, including juried shows at Art At The Center in Nederland, and Gilpin County Art Association in Central City. I also exhibit in several on-line art galleries. I also have on-going exhibits at various banks, community centers, libraries, restaurants, and also participate in local Art Fairs and Festivals. Art Licensing: I am a collectible artist with The Bradford Exchange, where my art is on a Dream Catcher Collection, as well as an exclusive figurine and sculpture collection. My art is also being licensed and is on a variety of products including: eSkins for laptops, iPads, iPhones, etc., puzzles that are being sold in Target, K-Mart, and other retail and web stores. Several of my pieces have been licensed by a company called The Mountain. They produce high-quality, environmentally-friendly T-shirts and other apparel, and have some of the finest wildlife and fantasy artists in the world on their team. I was born under the sign of Leo, and so I have a particular affinity to big predatory cats with fancy hairdos...but aside from that, I find this image to be particularly spectacular in its own right. The details are stunning and there is a masterful "painted" quality that works so perfectly in all of your work, but especially here. I love their expressions. Lions are cats after all, and cats have a wonderful way of looking intelligent, disinterested, and utterly clueless all at once. You've captured the regality of lions here, as well as thier complex, multilayered beauty. (Isn't it funny how predators are always so intriguing and gorgeous, while prey animals--though equally gorgeous--don't exactly convey regal dignity?)
