Il Parco Nazionale di Ras Mohammed è un'area protetta situata all'estremità sud della penisola del Sinai. La Penisola del Sinai si trova a nord del Mar Rosso, nel punto in cui il mare separa l'Africa dall'Asia. All'altezza di Ras Mohammed, il Mar Rosso, che misura ben 1930 km, si divide in due golfi: quello di Suez e quello di Aqaba. E' possibile raggiungere il parco via terra o via mare dalla maggior parte delle cittadine turistiche del Mar Rosso come Sharm el Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba o Hurghada. I subacquei vi giungono solitamente via mare per ammirare alcune delle più belle barriere coralline del mondo. In superficie, il paesaggio non potrebbe essere più diverso: spiagge e dune di fine sabbia bianca, baie desertiche, e una vita sottomarina mozzafiato.
Se siete interessati, la vostra guida vi porterà alle più belle spiagge deserte del parco. Immaginatevi di trovarvi su una spiaggia deserta, con la sabbia bianca che vi accarezza i piedi: davanti a voi un mare turchese e dietro perfette dune di sabbia e montagne di roccia. Potrebbe capitarvi di dover dividere la spiaggia con degli uccelli, poiché il parco ne ospita di numerose specie: aironi, gabbiani, rondini marine e falchi pescatore. Se vi recate al parco alla fine dell'estate, avrete la fortuna di vedere le migliaia di cicogne che si fermano qui per riposarsi durante la migrazione dall'Europa all'Africa orientale, dove passano l'inverno.
Tra gli altri animali potrebbe capitarvi d'incontrare la volpe del deserto o la volpe rossa. Prestate attenzione e non datele da mangiare. Se volete potrete lasciare dell'acqua fresca. Se visitate il parco in tarda primavera potreste avere la fortuna di vedere dei cuccioli di volpe al tramonto.
Ras Mohammed National Park is a protected area located at the south of the Sinai Peninsula. The Sinai Peninsula lies north of the Red Sea, at the point where the sea separates Africa from Asia. Height of Ras Mohammed, Red Sea, which measures 1930 km far, is divided into two gulfs: that of Suez and Aqaba. E 'can reach the park by land or by sea from most of the tourist towns of the Red Sea such as Sharm el Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba or Hurghada. Divers will usually arrive by boat to admire some of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world. On the surface, the landscape could not be more different: beaches and dunes of fine white sand, coves desert and a breathtaking underwater life.
If you are interested, your guide will take you to the most beautiful deserted beaches of the park. Imagine being on a deserted beach with white sand that caresses your feet before you a perfect turquoise sea and behind sand dunes and rocky mountain. You might have to share the beach with the birds, the park because it is home to numerous species of herons, gulls, terns and osprey. If you go to the park in late summer, you will have the chance to see thousands of storks that stop here to rest during their migration from Europe to East Africa, where they spend the winter.
Among the other animals you may get to meet the desert fox or red fox. Pay attention and give her to eat. If you want you can leave fresh water. If you visit the park in late spring you might be lucky enough to see some fox cubs at sunset.
