Description

This was the toughest render that I've done so far, the aim was to lit-up the whole scene with the fire lights (torches). So, it's fabiana's girl you're looking at. The place is my project in progress that I call Project Veranda. All the time of the render, I had Fabiana in my mind who is my inspiration in lighting, hope she likes it and hope you like it too! The render time was 9 hours 42 minutes and 5 seconds which is my most time-consuming render so far, and as always, I did not do any postwork! Previous Render of this girl and place can be seen here

I think the lighting from above reflects on her well. excellent pose and dress too. You must have a slow pc. my renders never take long.

No it's not slow AhL... the scene was very complex... as we increase the lights the render becomes complex exponentially and there are 73 working lights in this scene. So this scene is very complex! If you render only fractals then fractals are simple for example lets say there are 5 or 10 formulas working each formula has say 20 propositions and you render a picture of 1200x1600 and if one solution takes 1 micro second then your whole render is done in 1200 x 1600 x 20 x 10 micro seconds which makes 384,000,000 micro seconds i.e. 384 million micro seconds which is 384 seconds. whereas in a 3d system for a same computer, each light source emits say 100,000 light rays and each ray is raytraced 6 times and when 73 lights are raytraced for a 1200x1600 picture the whole picture takes approximately 73 x 1200 x 1600 x 6 x 100,000 which makes 84,096,000,000,000 micro seconds which makes 84 trillion microseconds or 84 million seconds... so compare 157 seconds with 84 million seconds, I hope you'll get your answer! :) This is very crude calculation by the way, it's the ideal calculation but actually the complexity is much more...

Credo sia stata un'impresa titanica anche per un'ottimo computer : il render 3D e' un vero massacro . ma ne valeba la pena , visto il risultato ! Illumnazione perfetta! Complimenti ! I think it was an enormous task even for a very good computer: 3D render and a real massacre. but valeba punishment, seeing the result! Perfect enlightenment! Congratulations

Wonderful render she looks great in this.. Well done you certainly are getting the hang of things now, the lighting is great.. Top job... Render time also changes depending where you use Raytraced or Deep Shadow Map in Daz Studio anyway I've used both and there is a big difference in time fro 20 hrs to matter of minutes.. lol..

I like the lighting setup - very ambitious. Did you use a self illuminating material for the torches? or point lights? Are you using Vray or Mental Ray? Nine hours seems quite a bit, and yes the render engine can and will calculate the render as you say, but there are a lot of ways you can "fudge" the render engine to give an almost identical render to a full blown top quality render that your eyes would have a hard time picking the difference.
