Description

Rome. Two masterpieces made by Caravaggio (in 1599-1600), in the church San Luigi dei Francesi (Saint-Louis-des-Français) about life of St Matthiew; a third one is on the right, not visible here. When you are facing these three paintings, you really understand what is a painter... (sorry, I'm a Caravaggio fan!)

Bravo.

I'm a fan of his too and it's great to witness his paintings in a church rather than a gallery. Never visited the one you've photographed but found a coupple of Caravaggios in the Santa Maria del Popola and it was a phenomenal experience
