Description

The Junkers J-52 was a medium-sized transport plane that was also used as a bomber. The first aircraft had a single engine and from the 7th aircraft on they were equipped with three engines. Ju-52s were flown by commercial airlines of many countries. J-52s were used as bombers during the Spanish Civil War and by Germany during WWII. The last Ju-52s served with the Swiss Air Force until the late 1980s. J-52s were produced by Germany from 1931 until 1945, by France from 1945 to 1947, and by Spain from 1945 until 1952. A total of 4,845 were built. This Ju-52 was at the Commemorative Air Force Show in Midland, Texas. This picture was taken in September 1998 and later scanned.
