Description

My daughter went with me on this trip. She was a little nervous at first as it was her first time on the lava field. But eventually....she calm down. Aloha and thank you for viewing Please check out my TLV: "AAB 3760 Kalapana Nov 08, 2009"

Superb photo! It almost looks like a lava octopus is uncoiling an arm!

Your time lapse video is awesome! At 0:35 it briefly looks like an elephant on its side reaching ahead with his right front leg. Seriously good work! My daughter would have happily gone with you too!

Wild! Look how it curls - like hair almost. Blazing with heat and caution... simply spectacular shot. Glad your daughter is learning from dad. I have taught my children and grandchildren a lot about our "old ways" here. They can either learn or they can walk away but I make them all listen at least once. LOL

Most interesting curve pattern in a deep glowing red. I would be nervous too but know you been here many time I would trust you blindly on the lava field.

I think I would be apprehensive no matter how many times I would go. Mayan volcano is close to eruption. it is so enjoyable to see tour foray into the lava fields

Yes Errol my daughter has raised her eyebrows more than a few times at my strange photographic exploits. I have this thing where I feel invincible looking through the lens! It's like I am removed from the actual scene!

Wow Errol this one is just marvelous... and I had a look at your video, which was sooo interesting, I never imagined lave beeing so slow or plants growing so near. The contrast between this really hot space and life already grabbing hold between the cold layers is utterly fascinating
