another of your compact landscape visions...One can see the remnants of a lost city, but they're encased in land, rock and growth, as if the earth grew over the remnants & gave them a natural 'blanket'. The gouges, the craters, the canals and such, are all done with great care, and they speak of intelligent life at one time, of a great urban center. But now they're covered with earth & plants; and there's a fog in the caverns & canals & craters, as if all that was left of the previous life was a mist, a smoke, a cloud. Very evocative. And your shadow and light is very well rendered, as always; as is your play between greens, grays, earthen tones and the silvery patina in the shadows and in the sky. Another fine landscape from you, and if I haven't said it yet, a very Happy New Year to you Javier; and I wish you an illumined 2010.
