I shot up at this little guy with the sun to my upper left and a dark pine tree stand in front of me. The web and the spider lit up nicely.

Yes I agree you did a very good job of it. I always wondered why these little guys don't get caught in their own webs! Apparently they spin 2 different types of web. One that is sticky and one that isn't. Luckily for them they know which parts of the web to stand on. If not they would get caught, but they also have hairs on their legs to help them remove themselves from the web if they make a mistake.

Excellent shot! It's so hard to get the lighting right for spider webs. You did fantastic! :D I don't think the spider was at the top of his or her class. ;)
