Description

I make no apologies for returning to this, my favourite stretch of coastline, one i will return to time after time. This particular visit, last Monday , was a particularly memorable one, due to the fact that all the way from home, Chard Somerset, everywhere was shrouded in thick fog untill we got to Abbotsbury where it all fell away. All the way along the coast to Durdle Door, the fog was in a solid line about a mile inland, and there it stayed. The beautiful blue sky and windless day stayed with us. As all keen photographers will appreciate, some days you know are going to be special, and this was one of those exciting times. Durdle Door ,derived from the Anglo Saxon word thirl meaning, to pierce.

This is gorgeous. The perspective brings equal attention to the rock, the sand and the water. Outstanding shot.

Wonderful color and clarity. The water is a marvelous color and the pebbles and shadows on the rocks show up so beautifully. I'm not surprised you visit regularly. It's a stunning place.
