Je länger man malt, desto mehr ist man Lehrling The longer you paint the more you are an apprentice.

Brief introduction: SaintFox is
-a woman born 1962 at the north sea coast of Germany.
-moved to the german midwest in 1996
-to a small town that offers a lot of medieval inspiration
-has at least two souls
...and about the nick: It's a mixture of my haircolor and a tattooed fox cub that I wear and that looks so saintly as a vegetarian. As long as I can think I enjoyed being creative - and I always loved learning something new! As I had my first look here I so much wanted to do images like the ones I saw in the gallery. But it took me several years to be brave enough to post my first image here. After all I do not understand anymore what made me hesitate so long... I'm a professional artist/illustrator, not at least because of the permanent encouragement of the "Captain of my heart", he's my muse, my secretary, my "wonderwall" against those things that are able to disturb creative processes so easily. Most of my work is published by a german gallery in Gelsenkirchen and available at my own homepage, too. In late 2005 I wask asked for my first collaborated works and so I finally found a second profession in doing my own characters and textures what enables me to give my images even more personal style.
Whenever I start to work on something new - especially when working with characters - there is a moment when the bundle of polygons and pixels suddenly seems to look at me from the other side of the monitor, it's the moment when my creations get personality. This is, at least, what I like to "transport" with my products: artist tools that are able to inspire the people that work with them because they have a kind of "virtual soul".
A woman under influence
Major influences on my work come from other admired artists and music. Some of my favorites: Jan Vermeer van Delft James Jaques Tissot Rembrandt van Rijn Hajime Sorayama Olivia De Berardinis Marcus Gray Herb Ritts Helmut Newton Alberto Vargas Ricky Carralero Gerald Brom ...and, regarding the feelings that I have when doing my characters: Dr. Viktor Frankenstein! Music: Too much to count, alternative and classics preferred but sometimes it has to be soul or jazz, too. The second large influence are people I met here: They comment on my images and help me to enhance them, they share their knowledge and finally some of them decided to involve me in their projects. For me (as I grew up in the before-internet-age) it's still some kind of miracle that people are able to work together independent of where they live.
...and, before I forget, the strongest influence during the last years came from some lines I read about 15 years ago:
Beauty is an experience, nothing else. It is not a fixed pattern or an arrangement of features. It is something felt, a glow or a communicated sense of fineness. What ails us is that our sense of beauty is so bruised and blunted, we miss all the best.

Ya know, I ALWAYS wondered what it was exactly that us girls wanted...huh. Now I do! :D This is SOO cool!! I bet he loved it very much. And a 2000 year old anniversary? That's cool! It always sounds so strange...they say the big difference between people of Europe and the United States is that we think 200 years is a long time and the people of Europe think 200 miles is a long way. :)

That is so cute-her posing does make her look like she is pleading for that lovely beer (and it does look good, and I am not a beer drinker) and I can believe they were making good beer 2000 years ago, even if not at Hermann's pub;)Your party sounds like so much fun!

I was going to say right off "The girl wants a beer" not the guy. It is so clear from your pose. Very nice poster style image.

Excellent work Meike! Did the landlord hang it up in his pup? I think it would make a great ad for a beer brand.

I love it! I hope the pub owner did as well!
