Description

I know my girls have got the ability to do the job they were bred for, I haven't a clue, so I let them teach me!!! Not always a good thing :o) The girls are a hunt point retrieve breed which means they do all the jobs. They hunt game birds (& any others they come across), deer & foxes (they should be able to jump a 6foot gate carrying a fox, so they have to have a strong neck). Now. On Meadows 2nd birthday I took her to a gundog trainer hoping to test her natural ability, (a birthday present so I thought). Someone in Munsters gave us this fellas name. I did stipulate to these people, there was no way I would hit my dog, or bully her & definately no elec collar!!!!! From the time my friend Toniann & I arrived (she had Meadows half sis Summer) we were sort of ridiculed by this fella. I made the mistake of when he asked what I did with Meadow, I said, obedience, flyball & OOOHHHH the crunch, heelwork to music, the downfall!!!!! After that he kept commenting on people who trained in little village halls, PARDON!!!! Needless to say we didn't get to see the girls natural ability, as all we did were the things the girls did anyway, sit, down, stay etc. We were in a field with loads of rubbish, wood with nails poking through, animal mess!!!! Didn't see a bird, rabbit NOTHING!!!! He said, my dog should walk by my side, taking notice of nothing else, poor dogs. That answered my question why the 2 GSP's that got out of his car & never even looked at us stood there, plus their tails were between their legs, they had been training!!!! We left there & took the girls for a lovely walk, noses into everything :o) I apologised to Meadow for her birthday present, we paid £25 for ZILCH. Gundog training, If it means the girls being miserable, we won't bother!!!!!

Well, now you know! Know you don't want your girls put through that... Seems the guy could at least keep his field picked up. Another good four photos today.

Being mean to dogs doesn't teach them anything. I know lets go put a shock collar on him and teach him to be nice. Every time he even looks like he is being mean, we'll zap him.

Oh what an experience that was, and let me think who is the one lady I know who gives her dogs everything, love foremost, but also lots of exercise and an awful lot of fun, and your dogs always look healthy, happy and relaxed. Hmmmmm I know you could teach that 'fella' a thing or two Barbara after knowing you for 30 years!!!!! Just keep doing what you are doing you will not go far wrong, and any dog who has the good fortune to live in your house can count his blessings. I love the collage by the way, but don't laugh cos I put a little caption to it "No he went this way, no it was that way, no you're both wrong he is over here" hugs Jane and gang xxx

Great pics of them at work Barbara and my Grandpa would have loved them as he was a long time fox hunter and always had dozens of dogs on the farm

Well, you and the girls can do without that! Horrible man!!! Lovely photos of the girls in enthusiastic fun mode, as is their wont, and in a nice untrashed field!

Never abuse an animal for any reason. You did the right thing to leave. Great montage and once again wonderful individual shots. Look like Jasmine (lower right) is on to something. Really liked what Janice had to say but then again we all knew you were special to the girls. Dana

Oh my!!! That sounded terrible... I do not want my dogs to cower so I don't let any one hit them either.. I think you can tell Miss Prissy is rotten.. but she also has manners.... most of the time. Snacks work real good for training. I think you do wonderful with your Munsters!!!! fun play LOVE and Baths!!! Enjoy them... and forget about the @#$%^&*. OK... I love Jasmine's antics and your capturing of them... The rest of the bunch Meadow and Carla B make it fun... continue on my dear. I am starting to feel a little better. Prissy Lou and Daisy Mae... hmmm antics to come????/ She will visit with the grandkids... I am glad Prissy played with her. Cool!
