Following the discovery of water on Old Earth's moon in 2009AD, the subsequent colonization led to stupendous advances in Robotics, Nanotechnology and the Bio sciences, allowing Humanity to adapt to low gravity conditions. In 3009AD came two milestones: Both non & organic Molecular Teleportation was perfected & the discovery of a planet 10 times Earth's size, where the only drawback seemed to be unexpected atmospheric disturbances. Robotics were sent by ion fusion spacecraft to construct Transporter relays powered by geothermal energy. That success lead to the first domed colony, "AlphaScorpio Outpost," followed by "Curahee Base 2," as the first Curahee Base was sole devoted to Terraforming & other forms of research. From there, settlers began spreading out over this vast planet, which amazingly, had Binary suns. It didn't take too long to note that atmospheric disturbances caused changes in the two suns color; depending on one's position relative to the Equator & which Dome was used, this became known as the "Smokin' Sky" phenomenon.
