Description

Here is another shot of this brightly colored Dragonfly species. These are the only Dragonflies I have seen at the pond in several weeks. Before this season, I only had one poor quality image of one of these. I had only seen 2 or 3 ever but late this year, they seem to be fairly common. They are quite hard to see despite their bright color. They are rather small. They stay close to the ground. They perch on low vegetation. They spend little time flying. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

Wow, my favourite kind of insect, luck or patience must have been on your side 'cause this a really great capture of this beautiful Dragonfly... what a contrast, the red body against those turquoise-cloloured eyes. very special shot BB

You did a great job of getting this one. The body style seems a bit different here...more geometrical. Outstanding capture.
