Description

After beating my brains out trying to create astounding and unique terrains in TG2 but never getting exactly what I want, I have finally admitted defeat and decided to take the low road instead. This terrain is a 513 square .ter file I created for last month’s Terrain Challenge here. I applied a voronoi-based cracks displacements and a surface shader set-up I found on Planetside Forums’ file sharing page. The atmo is taken from the NWDA’s default set-up. Trees are pines from a Walli freebie pack. Render time 40:26, no postwork. It’s nothing remarkable and quite mundane in my opinion, but as good as it gets for now. There’s plenty of room for improvements, I know. I’ll work them out as I go along. I appreciate all past and future support from those who know TG2 better than I – and there are a lot of you. Thanks for looking in!

You're taking the "low road" again! I'm delighted! We haven't seen enough of that from you yet! For me that was the "high road"! Can you do a couple a week, since you're way behind? Back to being the Desolation King!

Now this is the kind of image I enjoy most ...great creative work here. Sun position and light can change dramatically by shifting 180 degrees from the present ...would like to see this here. Nice work Rich!

TG2 is a learning experience and a journey...this makes a great base for a future project...I have many unfinished images similar to this....as you stated "It’s nothing remarkable and quite mundane in my opinion", still, it can someday be made remarkable :) Keep on, man!!!

Wow. Render time 40:26? Are this hours or minutes? The result looks very nice.
