Description

I love taking against the sun.and sometimes it works! The skyline of Dresden is very fine and a poignant reminder of what was destroyed in 1945. The paintings in a gallery there, by Canaletto, emphasises that very clearly. we first visited in 1991 and by 2005 much restoration had been achieved and the great dome of the Frauenkirke was completed and the church was opened a few months after our visit. The great panorama along the river from the Dresden Opera house is splendid. Thank you for your generous comments...Jean
