Render time 77h 46' 50" Supermicro Workstation with 16 GB RAM 2 x Intel Xenon Quadcore 2.66 Nvidia Geforce 295 Have not yet figured out why the render time has taken so long for this picture, it normally takes about 1 hours for the same render settings. Thank you for viewing and your comments.

Perhaps the ATMOS and water greatly lengthened the render time. I know water takes forever with Terragen. Possibly the same with Vue. Nevertheless, it was well worth the wait as it certainly is a fantastic scene with a super view.

Stunning image ;) Modern architecture bang in the middle of a stark landscape. I've never had a render lasting days before, maybe overnight. Did you use Radiosity on this one? If combined with water, high resoltion and superior settings that might be why. Vue can do that, add hours with no real visible improvement in render quality. But even so, I would expect a day at worst, not 3!

Beautiful job! You got the lighting matched just right to the location of the sun too. Nice work.

Just fantastic. I just guessing on the reason for the render time. maybe atmosphere and lighting effects. It probably would have never rendered in my machine.

Looks real - no wonder it took so long. So what did you do while the computer was busy all that time?

This is awesome max!! love the light/shadows in this.. I modelled a bridge very similar to this a few years back for a computer simulator game called Trainz by a company called Auran in Australia.. and this reminds me of it so much.. Love the train too..
