Description

This is the little village of Morcote which is situated 10 kilometers south of Lugano on the shores of Lake Lugano in the Swiss canton Ticino. It is very well known for its small alleys, its Patrician houses and the beautiful landscape. This picture was taken in late september, during my visit to this region because of the 2009 UCI Cycling Road World Championships at the nearby town of Mendrisio (yes...I'm a cycling-fan, despite all the doping-stories....can't help it). It's a fantastic and beautiful region, which is truly worth a visit. Especially if you like hiking in combination with spectacular views on Lake Lugano and Lake Como (which is just on the other side of the very near Swiss/Italian border). Hope you like the picture. WOW! This is a fantastic scene. I love the colourful buildings contrasted against the aquas of the lake. Would that I could take a stroll over to one of those cafes.
