Description

I havent imagined that I should get so many shots of shrooms this autumn, when I realized how little I could find in the forest, but they are everywhere, if you just use your eyes. I know that now :-) And before this series ends, you are getting fet up with my shrooms :-) But not me, not me. ----FULL SIZE IS better---- I think these must be "Lycoperdon gemmatum". Just wait, until I get a better book about shrooms :) Thank you so much for your kind comments to yesterdays upload. and special warm thanks to those who added it to favs. Have a wonderful sunday. Weather is still warm for this time of the year. Not sunny as yesterday, but very peaceful.

Great shot...we don't have much open grass round here that isn't really well trodden, I need to get out to another habitat beside the woods!

I guess it can be because this area is a vacation area. so most of the people leave the lawns for weeks and the shrooms can grow in peace. And they grow fast. :) Also it might be a bit colder here, so the lawns dont grow so fast now. All guesses :)

In my opinion you don't realise how lucky you are to find so much shrooms. I have in the past 7 years of photography only come across two mushroom scenes and one was so wide and broken that it din't qualify for photography. I have the urge to macro picture a mushroom. I love this picture of yours very much. :O)) SNAKEY

It reminds me of some kind of exotic fruit. I'm curious about the holes. Do they develop as the mushroom gets older or has something taken a bite out of it? I know next to nothing about mushrooms, though since you and Andrea have been posting these great pics, I know more than I did. Excellent capture!

These shrooms look like Austrailian Bearded dragons! I love that! These are gorgeous, and I laughed when I saw their texture. Bearded dragons are among my favorite lizards and they have skin like these mushrooms! These are amazing! I must learn more about mushrooms, because now I am curious. Are these somehow related to puffballs; I ask that because of the holes on top. I assume they develop when the shroom is mature? I love this image.
