Description

Thanks to those who commented on my last image. I am starting to understand Carrara (slowly). I spent a lot of time this week working on this for the PC weekly contest (at DAZ). Was running out of computer before I could do the rest of what I wanted. I learned a lot more about shaders, learned a lot about messing with terrain, found a good tutorial to make the road. Still cheating on the sky...used a plane with a sky photo. Thanks to Spacer 01 (aka Jadesfire) for helping me get a basic understanding of shaders. Any critiques or suggestions are appreciated. ...was going for a cinematic wide screen look Army Truck 1930 and Army Truck 1930 Plus (from DAZ3d)

Very nice, looks 1914/18'ish but obviously not with 30's trucks. Great image.

Hey, good job and congrats! Nice to see your slowly coming along with making sense of the shaders, as well as using more of C7's terrain tools. You've probably found it does take a little work and experimenting to get the size and shape of terrain you want; but I think its always worth it. The road and convoy also looks good. So you cheated a bit using a sky photo, on the bright side its higher resolution so it looks clear and not pixelated and thats the main thing ;) I'll toss another email your way, showing you the sky and atmosphere controls. Your really coming along and improving nicely. Keep up the good work!

NIce, I like the POV on this. I like that sky photo, too. I've become a real fan of cloud photos once I started making space nebulae. My only suggestion would be to next look into making some dust-clouds getting kicked up by those trucks, but that's a pretty minor quibble. Good work, it looks very nice.
