Description

a bit light on the pixel count, the new fractals in xd take more time to render than i choose to spend, am posting a few this week to give some indications of the stuff i have found...

When I first saw the thumbnail to this, I thought it was a photograph; so much for actually reading anything other than the words "What's new." I now see that it's a gorgeous bit of fractal art, and like the truest of fractals, has an intimately organic "feel" to it. Indeed, this does resemble an exotic seed cluster, or what remains of the head of a flower once the petals are gone. I love that slippery quality that art attains when it literally seems to jump between genres and media. I'm not biased (at least I hope not) when I say that I still think of this as a sort of photograph; it has that intense, photorealistic quality that I love in digital art. The colors and composition are superb, and I find that I can look at this multiple times and actually sit down with it and always have something to explore or contemplate. For that alone, I have to say that this is superb work. It has numerous merits, and I'm glad that I saw it, especially since it is now an introduction to the rest of your gallery.
