My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

No, none of that tempts me at all. Just think of the really great camera equipment you could get for the cost of those shoes. And with cheapish walking shoes you could go out and take pictures without falling and destroying said equipment. I see no sense in shoes that moonlight as torture devices. Wonderful image though! Mark is perfectly positioned and the light and reflections are great!

'I feel like a visitor from outer space in places like this. Nothing is familiar or desirable'. This is so true. I have just visited a huge shopping centre that has just opened near me, and it's so far removed from reality. I guess it is a form of escapism for some.

There is a theory that today's fashion designers create to either toe-ture women or make them look ridiculous because, deep in their hearts, they don't like women. Sometimes I wonder. It's a good picture though.

What a great shot Tara! Personally, I detest walking into the boutiques myself. but, its good to know people who work there, as they get free product(and lots of it).

good photo of design gone mad. lacking soul and feeling.

Wonderful shot, Tara! I followed your link to Marilyn's upload.

I wondered why people were commenting on that shot---but well, lately, I get shoes like this. They're stupid, expensive, usually painful, but damn---they sure make me feel tall and hot!!

Ah Marilyn's sexy shoe shot hehe lol ... Nice capture of reflections this is great Tara well done..

Being a Gemini, the pair of us are torn as to our opinions on killer heels. One of us knows we could be crippled, (at our age probably permanently), and the twin can't bear to part with the Imelada collection because her legs still look marvellous in them(yes, even at our age!). I did wear low 3" heels to the wedding evening party, I love being 6'! SUPERB pic, by the way!

HAHA What a marvellous capture here Tara. Wonderful reflections and the shoes, WOOHOO, but not for me...no no.. I never had a pair of shoes higher than 1½ inch and that is MANY years ago. HAHA! Mark look a bit "waiting" but very patient.

Well, that is teamwork at it's best! You did position Mark perfectly!!! LOL... Great one Tara and yeah - the bling also do not attract me!!! :)

tall and hot? ...where can i get a pair?
MrsRatbag
LOL @ Arthur! I'm afraid it would take a lot more than some very expensive shoes to make me tall & hot...oh well. I'd rather use the money for something more rewarding! It makes for a great shot, though, all that glass!

Success! What and where to look at first? This photo isn't so much telling a story (although it does) as it is illiciting a great string of comments. Isn't this fun?!

(having trouble with the site, today! sorry for all the ebots!) You mean you don't own a closet full of these shoes? At, what, 8 billion dollars a pop? Just one pair? An insole? It's a symphony, tara, a real symphony of visual blasts & textures & intrusions & reflections. I just commented on one of Andrea's mirror-on-a-table images, where she compiles all kinds of things on her table and shoots it: This is the window equivalent. A design carnival, with those wonderful diagonals on the right, bracing the theater marquee in reflection, and all the lines of tables, displays, and glass within glass. This is one of your best glass pieces of late, and that's saying something considering how constantly fine your glass pieces are. And there's a sign, "Introducing Blythe," and who's standing right above it? Moi. Yours truly. Trying desperately to look cool, debonair to the bone, material for a Vogue ad & leaning against the air (devil-may-care soul that I am), I am the embodiment of blythe-osity. This is my mystery, my élan...yeah shuddup mark. The pic is a wonderful collage of urban pretense and design, and it's you & glass & reflections at your bests. I don't know how you got it all in one shot, but you might as well have designed it yourself: Wonderful piece tara.

Great shot with the reflection. I couldn't wear those shoes though.

Lots going on there.

WOW! I love the reflections and Mark adding a bit of dignity to this garishness. My friend Stas always looks at this and makes some sarcastic comment about the rampant, empty glitz of Capitalism, and I have to say that I agree with him...but then I'd naturally agree with anyone closely associated with a dog named Brooklyn. Having said that, I have to also say that I love this picture! There is so much going on in it, so many reflections and textures and various grades of light. It's wonderful, and Mark looks so dignified, rather like a dignitary from another world, a diplomatic specialist, observing the native culture and judging its likelihood of ever becoming a member state of the Unified Nemaean Republics or something. I also have to admit that I'll never understand high fashion. It's the perfect scam though...and the pragmatist in me does see the sense of charging people LOTS of money for something that lasts only a season, according to the fickled whims of fashionistas; fools, after all, are easily parted from their money. But as someone who'd rather buy a book that lasts a lifetime, I can't see buying 800 zillion dollar shoes that cause hammertoe and other podial problems...but that's just me. What I love about this picture is that it's so darn good, and it offers the groundwork for an extended discourse on popular culture, the role of fashion, and the cultural implications of rampant consumerism, all while looking great! I love this piece and it's a perfect compliment to Marilyn's.
