Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I don't see anything like that in my day to day life, and unfortunately my sunrise moments are often spent in a truckyard at the beginning of a dull day. Ah, but I remember sunrises (with fog) in a far away land full of guys like Pavl who embody the word "quirky." This is a gorgeous shot, and I particularly love the water, the small waveletts and undulations, and that golden splash is just perfect. This is amazing, and quietly touching.

Your hands and feet were numb?? And those poor guys in the chilly water? I don't envy them ... as a matter of fact I don't even understand them ... maybe I am just getting old ... Nice shot!

Now THIS I can relate to, I do bodyboard, (in a very tame sort of way)and that position, back arched, is so familiar to me. What marvellous light!

A joyful activity and the physical part of the action certainly keeps them warm. Well seen and captured:)

Very, very rarely, if ever. A race to the finish line! Fabulous POV, clarity, light/shadow and textural effects in this supremo sterling shot, Marilyn! Actually, when you stare at it long enough, the water turns into a plenitude of rippling sand dunes.

Liquid gold!!! It is funny in retrospect what we will do for an image. Ah, no pain no gain! ;~)
