Description

The Fort Still Stands IV Another Bryce doodle while I was waiting to get my computer back. This time the location is a planet circling a red dwarf star. Jeremy CREDITS: Bryce 6.1 aircraft: "MiniG" and "Gunship" both were freebies, but I no longer have data on who made them or where I got them. Fort: Richard Jeferies aka RJ001 (Renderosity). Other structures: by Fire Angel (3dcommune). Tank: "Spider Tanks" by bugzlife (Renderosity).

Very cool, I just wish there wasn't so much JPEG compression, some of the details I just know were there have been lost... Love the colors, too.

Yeah, well I certainly agree with you on the compression thing.

Excellent picture. Very nice perspective and the colour and light are great.

I like the colors and the scene, but, yeah, compression is an issue. I always just use the .bmp image from the scene (or save the render as another .bmp) then I load it into PSP where I get the best control over compression (better than photoshop, in my opinion, but I'm probably just ignorant), then "save as" the scene (with at least a signature layer) as a .jpeg with somewhere between 7% and 15% compression (more for the big complex images to stay under 512K.

Nice scene... But let me guess - you used something like Windows Paintbrush to save / convert the image to jpeg? MS Paint is probably the worst offender for that. Hey Jeremy, Have you tried or heard of irfanview ? its a free image viewer and converter. When converting to jpeg, you can go into the jpeg compression options and set how little compression you want. Gierla is right, at most you'd ever want is 15% image compression ( aka image @ 85% quality) Theres also alot of handy plugins for it on the site too. Give it a try. Would love to see this render with more clarity...
