I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

I agree, the color and softness of the flowers contrasts well with the bricks. Nice work.

Thanks for the colorful photo, as it is a wee bit bleek here in the USA.

This is a very awesome way of growing flowers to protect them from some severe elements. Awesome capture!

The contrasting textures and colors really set this off. Lovely!

Beautiful. The color contrast works very well, cold and hard versus soft and warm. I imagine this is a planter but it gives the impression of growing right out of the wall. Well, it's almost dinnertime so I think I'll go and fix myself something on the rocks.

First off, and you know I can't suppress this, but weren't you impatient to post this shot of the Impatience? That said, a stellar capture of the lovely bouquet resting in the niche of the old and darkly textured brick wall, Carin.

Beautiful Capture as always You take such great shots!!!!!!!!!!

Oh this is gorgeous! And you've captured this perfectly. It's funny, as a kid, I thought these flowers were called "Impatients" rather than what they actually are, and was somewhat disappointed to learn that they are not actually called that. On occasion I'll call them "impatients" on purpose, just to see if I feel the same way about them. I love the contrasts here. The stone and the rectangular nook they are peeking out of is positively entrancing.
