Description

Captain's Log, Stardate 2125 AD.... "Chief Engineer Von Scott has assured me and Starfleet Command that the new Atomic Engines recently fitted to The Enterprise will give us speeds approaching that of light, thereby extending our service n the Alpha Quadrant for many years to come. Our first orders are to transport our first officer Cmdr. Spock to his home planet of Vulcan so that he may attend the marriage ceremonies to his intended Bride, T'Pring... with the engines operating at full, we should be orbiting Vulcan in no less than two years...such speeds were undreamed of just a few years ago. On our way to Vulcan, we will be dropping off medical supplies and machinery at the Jupiter Research Station, where recent experiments using Dilithium to regulate matter-anti matter interaction went very badly wrong, leaving Jupiter with a second big red spot, thereby making useless centuries of astronomy text books. Kirk out." came to me...what if Enterprise didn't have that fancy Dilithium crystal set, and used good old, tried and tested, nuekler (sorry, nuclear) rocket engines to get around.... a quick Kluge, maybe see some more of this... the idea has merit....we'll see... (maybe add a few Orion Slave Girls...) oh, and the sky... Beam Me Up, of course! comments welcome, please enjoy!

Intense craft Collin...I like the speed that it can accomplish. I love the squares connecting the ship! +5 from doarte's MADHOUSE

Beat me up Snotty...er, thar engines are gonna blow capt'n...oh dear, how about we just spread our seed around the universe ? Man, I wish I was Captain Jerk...oops, Kirk ! Nice take on the Enterprise, sorta like a 'slinky' version, I wonder if it goes down stairs as well ? Actually I thought warp speed 1, was the speed of light and thus warp speed, let's say 7, was 7 X the speed of light ?...I'd better do some homework ! Well done & ~Cheers~

jif3d, with the premiere of "Next Gen'", the formula for warps speeds was totally reconfigured, but for the original series, each factor was the "cube" of that number times "c" (the speed of light in a vacuum). Thus Warp 1 is 1 x 1 x 1 = 1. Warp 2 is 2 x 2 x 2 = 8. Warp 3, 3 x 3 x 3 = 27. Warp 4, well you get the idea. Back to the render, sweet! A potentially obtainable relativistic ship rather than an impossible "magic carpet" mode of transport. Great spin on a pop culture icon. Sincerely, Bill

...some mystical spring-loaded walkway from one end to the other, in case of an emergency ? but what do I know about a spaceships ? It looks super... BTW it's back to atom-smashing for the LHC, after initial faults shut it down, just 9 days after it's inauguration, has been re-started... Cheers BB
