Description

Ultra Fractal 5.04 was used though I imagine the picture could equally have been constructed in the earlier version. There are 14-layers with five of them used on the background (one of the five merely adds the texture). You should be able to decode the function of the remaining nine. Well, is it a fractal? I suspect my images rarely have such required purity. This “fault” comes from a combination of great age (I’m not too sure a preponderance of age should be classified as “great.” The bones creak, the muscles weak, and the body acquires an undisciplined mode. As to the mind, I’m not too sure what it intends other than adding to the confusion. Mostly it seems to spend time trying to find the memory, or more practically trying to discover where something has been mislaid. You need a lot of experience to cope with old age. Fortitude too, perhaps.), and a long-time interest in art history. I digress for the uploading of this picture is hardly justifiable without the title. Strange that, for the title clarifies meaning but possibly at the cost of diminishing any inherent artistic qualities it might contain. Titles can be like that. Sometimes they mystify, or maybe work primarily to classify, or serve as a communicative device between viewer and creator. Is this need to communicate a strength or weakness? It has been said, if a words can substitute for a picture the picture becomes superfluous. That might be so but you’ll often take longer making sense of the words than is likely to be spent perusing an image. The value of words waited on the acquisition of language whilst survival depended on the ability of ancient ancestors to use their eyes perceptively. Words are like music: sense comes from a progression through time. We too often think images require less consideration yet their probable taint of originality calls for more isolating thought. By now you should understand this picture – poor thing though it may be. Is it the better or worse for that? It depends on where you wanted or expected it to go and on the different “merit” it may have found. Generally I’m uneasy if the intention of a picture cannot be broadly expressed in words, yet must accept words are inadequate to express the totality of the work. A conundrum! Cliff.
