Description
A few miles south of Point Sur lays the village of Big Sur and the legendary Nepenthe restaurant. Built by Lolly and Bill Fassett in 1949, it is still owned and operated by the family today. Nepenthe is named after the Greek word meaning ‘remedy for grief’.
At 800 feet above the Pacific Ocean it is a place to forget your cares.
On the same rainy day I visited the Point Sur Lighthouse I sought shelter at the Nepenthe gift shop and this was the sight that greeted me through the floor to ceiling windows.

I sat and stared at this for a while. Such beauty can surely ease grief. Did you have to pull yourself away? Mesmerizing scene and beautiful capture!

Purple mountain's majesty! Reminds me of a lovely Chinese watercolor painting, it certainly has a soothing Zen feel to it. It's gorgeous.

Silent little wisps of vapor...

Great shot and great info. At 800-ft. above sea level it also seems to be the right altitude for good, rainy, foggy clouds!
