Description
Game Mods from the DJ Galaxy Pack that I converted to obj files using NifSkope. I adjusted the texture maps- the originals had all ther windows in black- then created light maps to turn them on.

At least we don't see the Enterprise's warp core detonating and rupturing the ship's antimatter fuel pods.

The seperation procedure was originally designed as a means of getting families and other non-combatants out of harms way. But the producers soon realized it was very time consuming to show this procedure EVERY time the ship was threatened- which was practically every other episode. So, they started writting the stories in such a way, that there simply wasn't time to seperate. I think during the entire 7 year run, they only seperated 2 or 3 times before the movie Generations.

Apparently the saucer seperation was a disused idea from the Original Series. One of the discarded plots for STAR TREK THE MOION PICTURE began with the 1701 being caught in the losing end of the battle. The saucer seperates with Spock at the helm, the lower hull with Kirk at the Battle Bridge finishes the battle (for now). Afterwards, the lower hull makes it back to Earth and a serious rebuild. The saucer crashes on a deserted M-world and the survivors set up a colony. Years later, the new Enterprise finds its lost crewmen, including a married Spock and Chapel, and also the foe who defeated them years earlier. The thing that bugged my cohorts and I about the TNG saucer is that since the warp engines are in the lower hull, if the ship seperates at warp the saucer should immediately pop into normal space as soon as it leaves the warp field. --Trek fan since '66
