Description

Morning sun. A second upload today to capitalize on yesterday's blue sky. The 217 foot tower has an eternal flame and an observation deck providing a spectacular view. Here's the view: 360 degree panorama This World War I Memorial was dedicated in 1921. It suffered age-related internal structural problems that caused it to be closed to the public c.2000. Bad news: Like many of these things there was no money for repairs. Good news: Funds were raised and the memorial was designated as the National World War I Memorial and reopened in 2006.
