Description
The Higgs boson (sometimes called simply "God particle") is an elementary particle whose existence was proposed in 1964 by Robert Brout and Francois Englert (and named "scalar boson" with them [1]) and by Peter Higgs [2] to explain the breaking of the unified electroweak interaction in two interactions through the Higgs mechanism. It is also the quantum of Higgs field.
The Higgs boson would have a nonzero mass to some gauge bosons (W and Z boson) of electroweak interactions giving them different properties from those of the boson of electromagnetism, the photon.

Well done.

LOL, Dear Claude, I don't understand a word of it, but the images are gorgeous. I do understand that photons are microscopic, so I'm thinking this too is a microscopic image of this Higgs boson. Both are fantastic works, and I like each presentation .. I like the simplicity of the first, the straight lines relieved by the curves, the second is excellent in it's more intricate design

WOW! I have missed a lot. This is a perfect collaboration. I love the intersection of high-energy physics and art! That is a rich territory to explore but unfortunately too many artists are intimidated by "Big Science," and too many scientists are uninterested in art. Like Nefarious DrO, I'm quite interested to see what the Hadron Collider manages to accomplish as well! This is fantastic work! I love it!
