Description
I think this is a Lily Beetle, mainly because it was munching on my Lily's, If anyone knows for sure please confirm this.

Yep! that's my enemy you got in this pic, Alan. Lilioceris lilii. The larva cover themselves with their slimy black poo and pretend to be bird droppings or even slugs...LOVELY!

indeed in the older days when I had a little garden these critters wher my enemies too eten lots of my lillies over the years
