Hello there everyone .. my apologies for not commenting lately ... there is a major crisis taking place at the Toronto Humane Society and Ive been there helping out ... its all for the safety and best for the animals tho .. A victory for the animals !!!
Last Thursday .. the shelter was raided by the OSPCA (Ontario Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) they oversee all shelters in Ontario .... the president , head Vet and 3 supervisors plus the Board of Directors were all arrested handcuffed and taken away for Animal Cruelty some other charges ..... something we have wanted for a long time ! they are not allowed back either..
those in Canada probably heard about this .. anyway the OSPCA have now taken over and the animals are getting the best care they can possibly get now .. unlike before when the tyrant presdent was there..all the vets, vet techs , other staff and volunteers that got fired or quit over his policies are now back and are working hard to get everything back to the way it was ... the main complaint about this president was over euthanasia ..he didnt do it when it was needed and left animals to suffer needlessly .. thats not happeneing now ... as heartbreaking as it is , it does have to be done for the sake of the animal.... I cant tell you how many times Ive held kittens this year just to die in my arms because this idot would not let the vets do anything
everything is going well and almost all the kittens are being fostered out as well .. the shelter is closed to the public right now as they get things sorted out ... and everyone is thrilled that the OSPCA intervened finally to save these animals ( and to have their jobs back )
if anyone is interested to read more just google Toronto Humane Society ..theres lots of articles on it ..... I cant look at any of the photos in some articles because its very disturbing but I have seen it working there .. too many times actually

Good luck with this huge task ahead of you...I feel for those animals. Poor little buggers don't have much of a say in how they are cared for and it is sad when people abuse that.

I am having shivers reading your posting Lucinda.It is not nice to see animals suffer.If an animal cannot be saved one have to give the taught to put an animal out which must only be the last Resort.Thank you for your work to help save and take care of animals. Your story brought tears to my eyes... as an animal owner and lover, this is so sad to read, and know that people in such places of authority are capable of such cruelty and harm. Really makes you think and wonder about so many other things that are thought to be "justified". I'm really glad to hear that something was done, nevertheless.. perhaps better late than never, as they so often say. A beautiful tribute, that evokes so much emotion.
